we’ve got World Cup fever!

Anyway
lots of world cup references and a chance to win some beer for footy predictions
are the order of this week it seems….

THIRST CUP

Well it's more than half way through the World Cup and as football fever
has gripped the country people also seem to have been very, very thirsty
for our award winning pure lager from Peru.

Apart
from helping people NOT to wake-up with banging heads because there aren’t
any nasty impurities in our beer (which is kind of cool), Cusqueña is
the most fabulously quaffable beer for summer and has become a popular
accompaniment to the general summer merriment.

Good
stuff.

As
we mentioned a couple of weeks ago, Selfridges have Cusqueña listed as
their official beer of the world cup in their Football Lounge. The good
people of London have drunk them dry!

As
a result of all you thirsty people, we have had to send off for even more
ships full of our beautiful beer quick sharp.

TASTE OF LONDON

Apart from enjoying more than our fair share of Germany 2006 (office favorites
are Argentina or Spain),we have been very busy letting lots more people
taste our lovely crisp refreshing lager.

Last
weekend we spent our time in a nice star shaped tent at Regents Park at
the Taste of London food and drink show where we had four days of glorious
sunshine, 40,000 people and lots of ice-cold Cusqueña.

Needless
to say it went down faster than the Poseidon.

We
all worked behind the bar and whilst it was hard work keeping up with
everyone’s demands for Cusqueña all day, at least we managed to squeeze
a massive 5 hours sleep in per night in our 5* luxury, mould ridden tents.
Lovely.

We
were asked by lots of people where they can get the beer so apart from
your nearest bar (www.cusquena.co.uk/stockists.htm)
look out for four packs in Sainsbury's, Tesco and Asda.

Hopefully Waitrose will also be added to the list soon as we’ve just met
a top guy called “Steve” this week who seems to like our beer and will
hopefully be making space for the brew from Peru on their shelves soon.

FRUIT AND BEER

People
were also asking at Taste of London if we advise sticking citrus fruit
in our beer.

One
word…

“No”.

“Don’t
be daft.”

We
think putting fruit in lager is something that only Mums and Dads did
in the seventies or that people should only do if they are slightly worried
about their lack of Vitamin C.

Due
to being a brewery set up by German guys and brewed to the high German
standards with lots of good natural ingredients, CUS-KEN-YA has a fantastic
flavour so there is no need to enhance it with a piece of fruit.

Therefore,
unless you are worried about scurvy, enjoy an ice cold fruit free Cusqueña
this weekend and squeeze your citrus fruit in a nice Thai curry for a
loved one.

WORLD CUP BANTER

Been
too busy to keep your wall chart up-to-date, or just been mighty lazy?

Either
way, feel free to use our up to the minute
spreadsheet sent by our skiving teacher friend Nick (who hasn’t
been doing his marking recently!) for the 2nd round and beyond. It even
shows what channels the games are on as well. Very handy!

football stuff…

Here
is something else we were sent this week that made us chuckle from our
mate Dave. It is an ordinary blokes application for the recent Middlesbrough
FC job…very funny. What's also brilliant is the reply from Steve Gibson

COMPETITION TIME

Congratulations
to Jay Freeman who won a case of beer & Nikki Knight who came second
and won some hay fever pills we’d bought from Boots.

Slightly
trickier than our normal ones. This week we would like you to don a Mystic
Meg style glasses (did she wear glasses – frankly we don’t care) and predict
who will win the World Cup.

The
first five that we pick out who get it right will win a case of our beautiful
beer.
